Maria Menounos
Maria helped her mother, who was suffering from Stage 4 cancer of the brain. It was discovered that she was suffering from severe health issues. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. In the cover article of PEOPLE, Menounos reveals that she was suffering from headaches and lightheadedness when she was on sets. "My speech became disorganized. Additionally, I was having trouble understanding the teleprompter." An MRI found Menounos to have a very large meningioma tumor in the brain that has grown to the size of a golfball. The tumour was pressing the facial nerves. Menounos set an appointment meet her mother's neurosurgeon Dr. Keith L. Black. They scheduled surgery for June 8, Menounos' 39th birthday. Dr. Black stated that the tumor was 98 percent benign. However, we wouldn't know that until we get there. The lengthy procedure took seven hours and the doctor. Black was capable of taking out 99.9 percent of the benign tumor. The doctor. Black claimed that it's feasible to observe the tumor come back in six-to seven percent of cases. "But I'll take those odds any time." Menounos has been home since an inpatient stay of six days. She's currently recovering and enjoying moments with Litsa as well as her mother. Litsa's most recent MRI confirms that she's healthy and free from cancer.
